Loft conversions on Putney semis
Many of Putney's 1930s and Edwardian semis have a hipped roof, which leaves the loft too narrow to use. A hip-to-gable conversion builds the sloping side up into a full gable wall, and with a rear dormer added you get a room with proper head height across the house.
Outside conservation areas, hip-to-gable and rear dormer conversions can often be done under permitted development, as long as they stay within the volume limits and don't face the road. We'll check before anything is drawn.

Questions about building in Putney
Will my loft conversion need planning permission?
Not always. Many dormer and hip-to-gable lofts go ahead under permitted development, but not in a conservation area, on a flat, or where the new roof faces the street. You'll need building regulations approval either way, and we'll handle it.
